Sunday Education and Spiritual Growth Hour

Each Sunday before worship (except in the summer months) we gather adults and older youth for a time to study, question and learn together from 9:30 am to 10:20 am. Then during the worship time, children in Kindergarten through 6th grade leave worship to meet in an age-related group for Church School time.

More details of the possibilities include :
Adult Education Forum – Discussions for members and friends on topics that include world religions, UCC issues of concern, social concerns from our community, why we are an Open and Affirming church, justice issues etc.  We often have a short DVD segment that gets our conversation started, and it is always a place of lively discussion!
Bible Study/Spiritual Growth Group – Periodically, a second adult program is offered to encourage various ways to pray, to deepen faith, to interpret and understand Scripture, to build community through shared prayer, faith activities, and study together.
Church School K-2 Class in Room 204 and 3-6 Class in Room 207* - The Church School classes are led by two teachers and youth assistant teams, who volunteer one Sunday each month.  The Curriculum used is called “The Joyful Path” and is a behavior over belief curriculum which connects children with their own inner wisdom and helps them learn how to follow the path of Jesus in today’s world. Schedule: 1st Sunday of month, children start in the classroom and join the congregation at Communion time; 2nd-4th Sundays, children and teachers start in Worship (10:30 am) and leave together after the Children’s time and stay in classroom until the end of church service.
Activity Room* - The Activity room / Nursery welcomes infants and toddlers, and preschoolers up to 5 years old, from 8:30 am through 11:45 am. Younger elementary children join the Activity room after the “children’s time” of the Worship Service.  Our caregivers, Nikki and Heather, take excellent care of our littlest ones.

Other Activities

Youth Group monthly service or outings - Our goal is to have a monthly gathering for service projects, outings and discussions with youth of the church. Express an interest and keep in touch by talking with the pastor or member of the Education and Spiritual Growth Board.
